Place a centerpiece in the center of your table. If you plan to remove the centerpiece at food time, try to use one with some height and it will make your stand look grander and balance the level in the area. If you are planning on leaving the centerpiece there during food times, go for a shorter one which means that your seated guests can easily see each other over it.
Match the types of materials you decide to the style of the available room. For instance, if your room is contemporary and formal, consider luxurious fabrics like damask or toile. When you have a country rustic, casual dining area, cotton or linen would suffice.
