Chandeliers will be the order of your day in a formal dining area and could add an eclectic touch to more informal space, but if mixing styles isn’t your thing, consider alternatives. Replace the chandelier in favor of a more informal fixture. A lamp fixture with a metal shade that looks like it originated from a factory provides an industrial feel, while pendant lighting fashioned from mason jars give the available room a primitive vibe. Overhead lighting isn’t your only choice. Situating floor lamps near the desk illuminates it and the immediate area, and table lamps placed on a sideboard create ambient light.
Turn the dining area desk over and check the bottom for any type of label or identifying mark. Check the leaf, if the desk has one and also check the desk thighs. If you find a serial number or signature, write that down as well.
