Select a comforting color palette for your guests. Warm colors, such as shades of silver and yellowish, are favorites for visitor rooms because they're welcoming. You can even select hue of renewable and blue for a far more tranquilizing impact. Dark colors tend to make rooms seem smaller than they may be, and dazzling or daring colors may be too stimulating for guests.
Keep furniture low to the ground. System beds and futons are traditional in Japanese design. This may mean that you will only desire a mattress rather than a mattress and box spring set, which will save you money. Platform beds are also common in modern design so you can reuse your furniture if you change decorating styles.
Select unobtrusive furniture with clean lines. Ornate furniture occupies more room and can make small rooms feel cluttered. Decorate to range, and avoid furniture that seems too large for the available room.
